Everything Bagel Spice BLT w/ Basil Mayo

Everything Bagel Spice BLT w/ Basil Mayo. BLT's are one of my most favorite sandwiches. They are on my Mt. Rushmore (Top 4) of sandwiches all time and I LOVE to order them out at restaurants. I love how simple and absolutely perfect they are. While I will never miss a classic BLT, a BLT with a twist will always catch my eye. Everything bagel spice enhances the flavor, and the basil & chive mayo adds a fresh flavor to balance all of the fat and salt. The second you see a perfect tomato, you have to make this ultimate BLT with a twist. Plus the everything bagel craze will never end for me.

Fresh Produce

Beautiful produce is what takes a BLT from basic to unforgettable. Fresh, thick, juicy tomatoes add lots of sweetness to cut through all of the salt and fat. Bacon is crunchy, salty, fatty perfection (I love a nitrate free bacon with great ingredients). Everything bagel seasoning & bacon together adds a really salty punch. Soft, ripe avocado with some acidic lemon adds a yummy texture and frankly, I am addicted to avocado. The fresh basil and chives really pack the mayo with flavor, but also offer a really really fresh bite and brings everything together. Lately I just love basil paired with everything bagel seasoning. It is my new favorite combo as seen here in another favorite, Everything Bagel Breakfast Sandwich Casserole. Oh and we cannot forget the lettuce. The crunchy sweet, crisp bite is a must and I love to use sliced bibb lettuce.

Home Cook's Notes

Home Cook's Tip:
*I love the fatty-ness of the acovoado in a BLT and with the mayo, but the lemon juice seasons the avocado and balances it really well. It's option if you don't want to buy an entire lemon for this, I understand, but I think it's well worth it.
*Other herbs would work well too! I think this would be delicious with dill.

  1. This is the best BLT recipe I've ever had. The first time I made this, I loved it so much I ate one every day for almost an entire month - sometimes for lunch AND dinner! This is also fantastic as a breakfast sandwich with an egg. The seasoning with basil makes this a 10/10.
