So many of my family traditions and memories are centered around food & our meals together: my family Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, my mom’s meatballs, my grandmom’s Chocolate Chip Cookies. The memories woven through each one of the meals I have eaten with my family is what inspired this blog. When I moved out and left home, my love of cooking and baking unraveled & so did my love of learning.
I started putting all of my passions in one: writing, taking photos, being creative, cooking, baking, learning. Book after book, lesson after lesson, recipe after recipe, I expanded Quarter Soul Crisis. And I realized: anyone can cook. Home cooks, like me, may not get to go to culinary school! That doesn’t mean we can’t make a perfectly flaky pie crust or know how to cook a steak with restaurant level precision.
Everything I make is inspired by all of the people and things that I love, the meals I have had, the lessons I have learned. And every lesson I have learned is something new that I can teach you. Talk with me, chat with me, what do you want to do next in the kitchen? That is why Quarter Soul Crisis exists.
xoxo,
Sam
