Ingredients

  • 3 oz potato or pasta water* , or non-alcoholic gin or vodka
  • 1.5 oz green olive juice
  • 6 stuffed green olives, blue cheese, feta, or your favorite
  • ice

Instructions

  • Make potato or pasta water: Clean and cube large russet potato. Cover with 1-2 inches of water & bring to a boil until fork tender. Drain potatoes & save the water! You usually will have enough to make more than two martinis or can freeze for future mocktails. Let it cool a little.
Cook ½ cup pasta in water. Reserve water & let cool a little.
  • Make Martini: Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add potato water & olive juice. Seal with the top and shake vigorously until cocktail shaker is very cold to the touch. Strain into 2 martini glasses and and 1 toothpick with 3 olives in each glass. Serve.

Home Cook's Notes

  • Mash potatoes for a snack with mixer or potato masher. Add some butter, salt & a splas of milk. You can also serve the boiled potatoes with salt & melted butter or save them for a meal later!
